Jesus Lives!

Easter, or Resurrection Day – whichever you prefer – is upon us. The time when we celebrate our Risen Savior, remember what He did for us, and reflect on His sacrifice and what it means to the world.

The Dragon Slayer

So the great dragon was thrown out—the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world.

The Little Drummer Boy

Come,
they told me.
A newborn king
to see.

I love Christmas and Christmas music. I love the way it makes me feel – the way it makes everything feel. It’s positive, hopeful, and fun. There’s this sense of anticipation in the air. What’s not to like about that?

Today is the Day of Salvation

Today is the day of salvation
Why is this hard to believe
Our culture has put man before God
A trick that’s designed to deceive
So many will fall to the pressure
Don’t push me – It’s my life to live
I can’t be as bad as you tell me
I’ve done nothing for Him to forgive
The message is all you can tell them
The Truth is all you can say
The Spirit is what will convict them
Confession’s required this day
Belief is our confirmation
Christ died and defeated the grave
A gift that’s beyond understanding
A knowledge our soul has been saved

The Labyrinth of Life

This past summer, my husband and I went on a little vacation, and by that I mean I went with him to work for a few days.  He travels a lot with his job.  We spent a couple of those days in Kansas City and were able to attend a Royals baseball game.  We hadn’t been anywhere in quite a while, and even though it was a “working holiday”, I was pretty excited about getting to spend time with my husband and laying out at the hotel pool while he worked.  The day we departed, he asked if there was anything particular I wanted to do while we were in Kansas City.  I had been wanting to go to the IKEA that had opened there for a while so I told him about that.  He didn’t really know what IKEA was and thought this was a questionable request.  No more was said about IKEA for the next two days, and I figured by his dismissive response earlier that we would not be making a visit. Thanks Be Unto The Lord

It’s Your breath in our lungs,

So we pour out our praise,

We pour out our praise.

Great Are You Lord!

These words from one of my favorite praise and worship songs pretty much sums up how I feel this Thanksgiving.  I fall on my knees in praise of the Lord, thanking Him for all He has blessed me with.  I will thank the Lord with all my heart; I will declare all Your wonderful works. Psalm 9:1  Many could look at my life and ask why would I thank Him.  That always makes me grin just a little because I realize they just don’t get it.  Then it makes me sad because I realize, they just don’t get it.  Whatever you have been dealt in life, you cannot forget that God is still on the throne, and everything is part of His great plan.  Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7   Continue reading “Thanks Be Unto The Lord”

Every Scar Tells A Story

When I was five years old I fell into a fire.  Most of my family was at my mamaw and papaw’s house in rural southeastern Oklahoma.  We had built a fire out in front of the property.  When the adults had retreated back towards the house, my older brothers and male cousins began jumping over the fire.  It was exciting to see them run and jump with the flames seemingly engulfing their legs.   Continue reading “Every Scar Tells A Story”

I’m Not Done Yet

So many things have gone on in my life in the last several days.  Seems like the devil is working overtime to try and steal my joy.  But, that is life, and it’s hard to have a message if there isn’t a mess to go through, or a testimony if there aren’t some tests along the way.  “Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4  So…bring it on Satan!  I’m not done yet.   Continue reading “I’m Not Done Yet”
