Right Where You Are

Little did I know the blessings God had in store for me when I decided to rejoin the workforce about two years ago. Oh, I knew full well His Divine intervention is what placed me here, although it seemed unlikely to me that I would be much good to my colleagues, not to mention how I could glorify God in this new line of work. That was all I wanted to do though – glorify God and in some way be a blessing to those I work with. Odds felt pretty slim Broadcast News would be the place the Lord would need me.

Where the Wild Things Are

We lived in southwest Missouri for about 20 years.  The original store of a large outdoor retail chain was less than a 2 hour drive from our house.  Being outdoor enthusiasts, we went there many times.  It is not just a store where you can purchase fishing lures, it’s a tourist attraction full of large aquariums, over-the-top décor, weaponry collections, restaurants, etc.  When they opened their wildlife conservation center and aquarium (much bigger than the ones they have inside the main store) we decided to take the kids up and check it out. The Balance of Nature

My husband and I went on a trip to Colorado last fall.  This was my first visit to that state, outside of the Denver airport.  I was excited to see the changes in topography as we traveled along.  We left the lush, green hills and clear, sparkling rivers of southwest Missouri, discovered the endless beauty in the flat plains of Kansas, and slowly crept up into the high plains of eastern Colorado where I spotted the first antelope I had ever seen in the wild. You Can Lick Anything!

I have been blessed enough to have traveled to Europe six times…so far.  Most of my adventures have been with students and teachers on educational tours.  I have seen many countries, great works of art, magnificent ruins, Gothic cathedrals, resting places of history’s mighty figures, battlefields where the future of the world was decided, and the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea, to name a few.  None of my trips were anything like my very first one.  For it was on that trip that I discovered I had a massive impulse to touch things.  I mean…massive.  Like, uncontrollable impulse.  In fact, I was literally unaware that I was even doing it until I had done it. Have Thine own way Lord

Have Thine own way

Thou art the potter, I am the clay

Mold me and make me after Thy will

While I am waiting yielded and still

Lord, this is all I truly want.  For You to have Your will fulfilled in me.  Whatever You want me to do, wherever You want me to go, I want only that.  I am ready and willing to serve You, and I pray that You will use me to bring glory to Your great name.  Help me to know my calling.  To hear Your voice, and have no doubt.  To have the strength and the grace to pick up my cross and follow You.  These things I pray in Jesus Holy Name.

A Prayer for Prayer

Dear Lord,

Thank You for the many blessings You have bestowed upon me.  I pray now Lord, to be blessed with an all consuming passion for prayer.  To communicate with You daily.  To have a deep desire to bring all things to You in prayer.  To defeat the devil and bring glory to Your name.

Hello World!

I am so excited to finally be starting this blog!  What a wonderful endeavor it has been, and I’m finally here.  I hope you join me as I share my creative insights on life, love, and most of all…Jesus Christ.  The good Lord has blessed me in so many ways.  I have so much to share, it’s hard for me to stay focused.  I pray you find encouragement and hope in your own walk with Jesus as you learn more about mine.  All that I do is for the glory of God.  So, buckle up, and get ready for this incredible ride.  May God Bless You!
